Teresa McKee, CEO of Work2Live, is a transformation and leadership coach, certified mindfulness meditation facilitator, EFT practitioner and writer. Combining her training and education, including a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.S. in Psychology, specializing in Leadership Coaching Psychology, with her experience of over 35 years as a business consultant, Teresa integrates behavioral science with results-oriented processes to help executives and teams achieve their goals.

In addition to executive coaching, Teresa facilitates workshops and webinars, conducts conference presentations and facilitates the Dynamic Coaching Certification Program. She is also the host of A Mindful Moment podcast, produced in both English and Spanish, to help people learn how to live a more enriching life. She is currently providing leadership and team development training, as well as leadership coaching services, in the First 5-funded Welcome Baby and Home Visiting Programs in 13 hospitals and 28 agencies in L.A. County, the Mama’s Neighborhood home visiting program, and the L.A. County Department of Public Health’s Home Visiting Expansion Program.  She provides self-development and advocacy trainings to community members and organizations, including parents and non-profit leaders. She has also recently introduced online mindfulness classes to coaching professionals in the United States and Canada.

Teresa is an avid volunteer and in addition to volunteering for various events, has served as Secretary/Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the My Stuff Bags Foundation since 2014, and is a member of the finance committee for Maternal Mental Health NOW.  


Her new book, Dynamic Response Ability, will be released by Balboa Press in 2020.

Jessie Brennan, MPH, is Work2Live’s Program Manager. Jessie is passionate about public health and specifically, addressing racial and ethnic maternal and child health disparities.  She is currently working to complete her Professional Development Coaching certification (CPDC) and contributes to the Dynamic Coaching Certification program through content development, supporting students and providing technical assistance.


Jessie brings her previous experience as a teacher combined with her extensive knowledge of public health issues together to enhance and inform topics to integrate into the programs. Jessie works with our clients to identify their needs, researches and identifies effective solutions and assists in providing trainings and support, in addition to supervising staff.

Vanessa Barajas, MPH(c), is in the process of attaining her CPDC while simultaneously finishing her master’s in Public Health at California State University, Northridge. As our Program Coordinator, her focus on maternal and child health is a perfect match for our partnership with Welcome Baby and home visiting programs in L.A. County and aligns with the current research projects she assists with in examining ways to reduce infant feeding disparities.  Vanessa also has experience writing and leading creative health workshops for families with young children, making her contributions to our program content invaluable and effective.

Melissa Sims is our Social Media and Web Manager. She is also one of our workshop contributors and a guest writer for our blog. She brings over 8 years experience in social media management, and has written numerous guest pieces for various industries, including travel, real estate and yoga. 

Melissa is also a Certified Yoga Teacher, and sometimes brings yoga into our workshops. Melissa's focus is on mindful meditation, breath work, and asana. Melissa is currently exploring the many facets of yoga, including yoga therapy, the chakras, the application of sound energy, and the practice of pre-natal and post-natal yoga. She currently teaches in Orange County, and also offers private in-home instruction & corporate yoga sessions.​  You can find Melissa online to book private or corporate sessions at The hOM Yogi

Paola Theil, M.S.W., A.C.S.W., is our Spanish Programs Specialist. She has over 10 years of progressive social work experience and earned her graduate degree from Boston University, and an undergraduate degree from UCLA. She currently works in maternal and infant health at Northridge Hospital Medical Center administering bio-psychosocial assessments to address the needs of underserved and vulnerable post-partum patients. Paola was the Program Manager of Housing Stability at LA Family Housing, which helps families transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services. Paola also helped launch the Family Visitation Centers and Safe Child Custody Exchange programs at Friends of the Family, using a pilot model that emphasizes collaboration between the DCSF, the L.A. Police Department, and faith based community organizations, to provide safe child visitations and exchanges throughout the San Fernando Valley. As our Program Support Specialist, Paola brings her rich experience and knowledge of Cognitive Based Therapy and mindfulness to Spanish translations of curriculum and programmatic materials to help enrich the lives of our community members.

Michael McKee has over 20 years' of experience writing and developing curriculum as an AP teacher.  With an M.S. in education from Pepperdine University, he brings a unique depth of educational knowledge and experience to the Work2Live programs. Having worked with thousands of teenagers, in addition to facilitating professional development for teachers, Michael knows what it takes to have a lesson received while providing the motivation, inspiration and support that learners need to achieve success.
